The entire recovery process can take up to 3 months. The majority of bruising and swelling will subside by around the 3 week mark.
During the first week you will be asked to wear a compression garment 24/7, followed by wearing it at night for another week. How quickly you return to work or social settings will depend on your comfort level being around other people while you are healing. Visible bruising may be present for a period of approx. 2 weeks. Our nurses are available to show you how to apply speciality post-surgical makeup to help hide bruising. This makeup can be purchased at our office.
