Regions of the face and neck

As one of the top Orange County facial plastic surgeons, Joseph T Cruise, MD believes that since each person and each face is different, each cosmetic surgery solution must be customized to the person’s primary concerns, needs, and lifestyle. Facial aging is a complex process that involves the descent and loss of facial fat and connective tissues that keep the face uplifted. When this happens, the skin stretches and often sags as a person’s face ages. When people notice these signs of aging, they begin to consider whether cosmetic surgery could be a solution to reverse these effects.

    Upper Face

Upper facial rejuvenation addresses sagging and wrinkles in the brow and eye areas. Best options for this area usually include non-surgical treatments like Botox® or soft tissue fillers, as well as surgical procedures like the brow/temple lift, upper eyelid surgery, and lower eyelid surgery. These treatments can help to lift lines and wrinkles in the forehead as well as open and brighten the eyes for a youthful, awake look.

    Mid Face

Mid face rejuvenation addresses the cheeks, nasolabial area, and middle area of the face. For non-surgical treatments, soft tissue fillers can fill in wrinkles and sculpt the cheeks for a more youthful look. For surgical treatments, a fat transfer procedure can fill in hollows in the cheeks using autologous fat grafting. Additionally, a facelift can smooth wrinkles and loose skin, restoring the profile. The mid face often experiences the most visible loss of volume, so these treatments aim to restore form and enhance the natural contours.

    Lower Face

Lower facial rejuvenation and neck rejuvenation aim to lift and tighten sagging skin and fat around the chin and jawline. Surgical procedures are often most effective for these areas. The neck lift can remove excess skin and fat while tightening and sculpting the jawline. Sometimes, chin implants can be used. Additionally, lip augmentation can help balance the other features of the face when the lips become thin with age. The overall effect of these treatments is a sculpted and defined lower face to enhance the profile.

    Skin

Healthy, radiant skin is a benefit at any age. Aside from treating skin concerns like acne, pigmentation, or dryness, skincare treatments can also help boost anti-aging treatment results with procedures like chemical peels or dermabrasion. With regular treatments, these options can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help boost cell turnover, resulting in a healthy, rejuvenated glow.
