Ear Surgery Recovery Time
Recovery from Ear Surgery
Some people with sedentary jobs go back to work after 2 days after their ear surgery. If your job requires a lot of strenuous activity it may take as long as a week to return to work. If there is the possibility of ear trauma, Joseph T Cruise, MD recommends wearing a head band to protect the ear. Most people return to work in about 4 days.
A head band is worn at night for six weeks. This is to protect the ear from folding over on itself from the pillow. By six weeks, there is enough healing so that you no longer have to worry about normal ear contact.
Joseph T Cruise, MD uses absorbable sutures so suture removal is not an issue.
