Face/Neck Lift For Men

Visible signs of facial aging are caused by a natural loss of collagen and fat which causes skin elasticity and loss of muscle tone. Facial aging can become noticeable as early as your late 30's, however it may not be bothersome until you are somewhere in your 50's or older. Regardless of your age, if sagging skin, loss of jawline definition, and/or deep folds are present, and of concern to you, then a facelift can help you regain your youthful appearance.

Joseph T Cruise, MD evaluates the face in thirds. He looks at the upper face, mid face and lower face/neck to determine what areas are contributing to your aged appearance. For men, it is most common to have a lower facelift with neck lift. The combination of these two procedures will improve the lower face (below the level of the nose), jawline and neck. This tends to be where the most bothersome signs of aging appear.

Recovery

The entire recovery process can take up to 3 months. The majority of bruising and swelling will be subside by around the 3 week mark. During the first week you will be asked to wear a compression garment 24/7, followed by wearing it at night for another week.

How quickly you return to work or social settings will depend on your comfort level being around other people while you are healing. Visible bruising may be present for a period of approx. 2 weeks. Our nurses are available to show you how to apply speciality post-surgical makeup to help hide bruising. This makeup can be purchased at our office.
